Reason for Recommendation:
 
The selected candidate was employed by the City of Los Angeles, City Attorney's Office as a  Deputy City Attorney with over ten years experience as a prosecutor in the criminal, special operations, and community prosecution branches.  He has vertically prosecuted offenses in the following specialized units:  Hate crimes, elder abuse, Cal-OSHA fatality cases and labor code violations, child pornography, child molestation, computer crimes, gang crimes, and public nuisances.  
 
The candidate has tried over forty jury and court trials in the City Attorney's Office, as well as three felony juvenile court trials (adjudications) with the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office.
 
A DDA III, Step 5 placement represents this department's commitment to hiring and retaining Deputy District Attorneys with exceptional skills and motivation.  The candidate brings a professional level to the District Attorney's Office that allows the department to better serve the community's needs.
