Title: Community Development Agency, Environmental Management Division, recommending the Board consider the following: 1) Accept a three (3) year grant award in a total amount up to $49,655 from the State of California, Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery, 2014/15 Household Hazardous Waste Discretionary Grants; and 2) Delegate authority to the Community Development Agency Director, or designee, to execute the grant agreement, including, but not limited to, any amendments and all associated documents necessary to secure grant funds and implement the approved grant agreement. Background
Community Development Agency, Environmental Management Division (CDA/EMD) applied for and received notification of the grant award in an amount up to $49,655 for the grant term of July 15, 2014 through March 29, 2017. The State of California, Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) administers the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Grants for various projects such as public education and outreach, new and sustainable extended producer responsibility information and collection opportunities, temporary or mobile collection programs, minor improvements to existing HHW facilities and the purchase of personal protection equipment and/or refresher HHW emergency response standards training.
