DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On April 25, 2022, the Board awarded Non-Profit Organization COVID-19 Economic Impact Grants to eligible recipients using American Rescue Plan Act funding and approved the use of a grant funding agreement template (Legistar item 22-0664). Staff had identified three organizations that had applied for funding but were denied for insufficient or incomplete documentation. The Board directed staff to attempt to contact these three organizations and allow them the opportunity to correct the identified insufficiencies in their applications.

After contacting all three organizations, the County received updated information from the Oak Ridge High School Community Foundation and is recommending the Board award the requested grant of $35,000. Of the remaining two applicants, one has not responded to the County's inquiries and one has been determined to have financial discrepancies in their application that have not been resolved.

ALTERNATIVES
The Board could decline to award the grant.
