1) Approve the Final Passage (Second Reading) of Ordinance 5113 to repeal County Ordinance Code Article VIII. Veterans Affairs Commission, Chapter 2.20.510 et. seq. pursuant to Board direction on June 25, 2019. Including a clerical correction to change the referenced Resolution; and
2) Approve and authorize the Chair to sign Resolution 013-2020 to continue the Veterans Affairs Commission and adopt new bylaws. (Cont. 1/7/20, Item 16)

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On November 19, 2019 (Item 32), the Board approved the Introduction (First Reading) of Ordinance 5113 and Resolution 196-2019. The Board continued this item to December 10, 2019 for Final Passage (Second Reading).
On December 10, 2019 (Item 16), the Board continued this item to January 7, 2020.
On December 10, 2019 (Item 17), the Board approved the reconsideration of Resolution 196-2019 and continued the item to January 7, 2020.
On January 7, 2020 (Item 26), the Board rescinded Resolution 196-2019 that added a Board member to the Veterans Affairs Commission. The Board instructed staff to return to the Board on January 28, 2020 with a revised Resolution.
On January 7, 2020 (Item 27), the Board continued this item (Legistar 19-1198) to January 28, 2020 for Final Passage with a clerical correction to the Ordinance 5113 to change the referenced resolution to a new resolution that does not include the addition of a Board member on the Commission. The passage of the ordinance will repeal Ordinance 5098 that establishes the Veterans Affairs Commission and instead continue the Commission through a resolution.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board may choose not to adopt the ordinance and subsequent resolution and direct staff to take other action.
The Board may choose to take no action.
