Fiscal Impact: There is no additional funding for this amendment. There is no Change to Net County Cost.

Reason for Recommendation: Sierra Child and Family Services has been providing specialty mental health services to County minors for over six years. These services include psychological testing, individual and group therapy, therapeutic behavioral services and crisis intervention. The Mental Health Division does not currently have the capacity to perform these services. This contractor and several others handle the overflow so that minors in need of services can access them without long waits.

This contract provides for the use of SB 163 Stabilization Funds to purchase goods and services for client families to help keep the family unit intact. Examples of these expenditures include paying the client’s utility bill in winter months, paying for transportation expenses when needed, and similar expenditures. Purchases up to $500 must be approved by the Mental Health Program Coordinator and the Human Services SB 163 Program Manager.
