Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: The not-to-exceed amount of this Agreement is $480,000. There is no Net County Cost associated with this Agreement.

Reason for Recommendation: Crestwood Behavioral Health, Inc. has been providing long-term, 24-hour care and treatment to seriously mentally ill County adults (18 and older) for over eight years. Crestwood has a number of locations throughout northern California offering various types and levels of care, based on the client's needs.

Most clients placed in Crestwood facilities have been found by the courts to be gravely disabled due to a mental disorder and placed on an LPS Conservatorship. When it is necessary to place clients in a Crestwood treatment facility, the Health Services Department's Mental Health Division is financially responsible for the placement and mental health treatment costs. To meet this need, Crestwood offers a variety of treatment centers providing clinically appropriate services. Rates vary at the different Crestwood facilities; however, even the highest level/highest cost treatment facilities are significantly more cost effective than use of State Hospitals.
