Department of Transportation recommending the Board adopt Resolution 127-2012 sanctioning the closures of Main Street and South Street in Georgetown between Highway 193 and Harkness Street. Additionally, road barricades will be located at the intersections of Main Street/Placer Street, Main Street/Orleans Street and Main Street/School Street between 12:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012, for the annual Georgetown "Parade of Lights," subject to the conditions set forth in Resolution No. 110-79 and subject to conditions set forth in the "Application for Road Closure."

Background
The annual Georgetown "Parade of Lights" event is sponsored by the Georgetown Divide Rotary Club. The requested road closures are to ensure the safety of the participants, volunteers and spectators during the event.
Reason for Recommendation
The Department of Transportation is recommending the Board approve the proposed Resolution for the safety and success of this annual community event. Other involved agencies have made no objections to this closure.
Action(s) to be taken following Board approval
1. The Acting Clerk of the Board to obtain the Chairman's signature on the Resolution.
2. The Acting Clerk of the Board to send an executed copy of the Resolution to the Department of Transportation.
3. The roads listed in the Resolution will be closed on Saturday, December 1, 2012, between 12:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., for the annual Georgetown "Parade of Lights."
