DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Department of Transportation requests authorization to carryover fifteen (15) additional replacement vehicles, which were included on the Fiscal Year 2021-22 Fixed Asset list but were not received due to COVID-19 delays and factory closures. This item requests to carryover seven (7) mid-size SUVs - one (1) at $32,000 and six (6) at $39,400 each, one (1) compact EV at $35,000, one (1) hybrid truck at $44,500, and six (6) 1/2 ton pickups - three (3) at $43,000, one (1) at $51,000, one (1) at $31,000 and one (1) at $32,000. The carryover vehicles total $590,900. The budget amendment to re-budget the vehicle costs will be included in Transportation's request as part of the FY 2022-23 Adopted Budget process.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could also choose not to approve to carryover fifteen (15) replacement vehicles, although purchase orders have already been issued for the purchase.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no change to the cost of the carryover vehicles. The funding for these vehicles will be requested to be re-budgeted in the Department of Transportation Maintenance and Operations Division - Fleet Internal Service Fund budget for FY 2022-23. This internal service fund charges costs for services and replacement vehicles to the County departments served.
