Title

Human Resources Department recommending the Board approve and adopt the revised classification specifications of Assistant in Right of Way, Associate Right of Way Agent, and Right of Way Supervisor.

FUNDING: N/A

Body

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

In collaboration with the Department of Transportation (department), Human Resources (HR) conducted a comprehensive review of the classification specification (class spec) series for the Assistant in Right of Way, Associate Right of Way Agent, and Right of Way Supervisor which were last revised in 2004, 2014, and 2014 respectively. This review was initiated by the department to allow for more flexibility in recruitment efforts to provide candidates the opportunity to meet the license and certification requirements within the probationary period, instead of at time of hire.

The proposed revisions were developed through close coordination between the department and HR to improve clarity, precision, and consistency between the classifications in the series. Additionally, the revisions incorporate the County’s current formatting standards, further supporting uniformity across all classification specifications.
