Title
Chief Administrative Office, Office of Wildfire Preparedness and Resilience, recommending the Board consider the following:
1) In accordance with Chapter 3.13, Section 3.13.030(B) of County Ordinance Code, Contracting Out, find that the services needed to prepare an update to the existing Western El Dorado Community Wildfire Protection Plan require specialty skills, qualifications, expertise, and technology not available within current County classifications;
2) Award Request for Qualifications 24-918-013 to Jensen Hughes, Inc. for the preparation of an update to the Western El Dorado Community Wildfire Protection Plan;
3) Approve and authorize the Chair to execute Agreement 8527 with Jensen Hughes Inc. to update the Western El Dorado Community Wildfire Protection Plan, in an amount not to exceed $250,000 and a term of two (2) years upon final execution; and
4) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to execute any necessary amendments relating to Agreement 8527, excluding term extensions and increases to the compensation, contingent upon approval by County Counsel and Risk Management.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
In 2017, The El Dorado County Fire Safe Council (EDCFSC) initiated the preparation of the original Western El Dorado Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) for El Dorado County, which included sixteen (16) associate fire safe councils under their umbrella. The purpose of the CWPP was to identify areas for hazardous fuels reduction treatments and recommend mitigation measures to help protect more at-risk communities and essential infrastructure. Additionally, local communities that have prepared and adopted a CWPP receive additional considerations for various state and federal grant opportunities.
