DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
El Dorado County Sheriff’s Detectives division has leased the Pierroz Road office space since September 1, 2008. Sheriff staff moved out of the building in mid-September and Facilities needed another 30 days to remove all County property and clean up the space prior to turnig it back over to the landlord. Lease Agreement 074-L1711 (FENIX #151) with the Placerville Masonic Center Association contains Section 21.3 Hold Over, which gives the Lessee the right to remain in the Premises on a month-to-month basis at the then base monthly rate in effect as of the last day of the Term for a period of up to twelve (12) months. Since the original Board approval of this lease agreement was for a term of September 1, 2016 through August 31, 2019, the Board is being asked to ratify the Facilities Manager's signature on the hold over letter extending the term through October 15, 2019.

In addition to extending the term via the Hold Over provision, funding needs to be added to the agreement in an estimated amount of $20,000 to cover costs for the additional forty-five (45) days. Funding is available in the Sheriff's budget to cover this expense.
