Background: On September 13, 2011, your Board adopted Resolution No. 154-2011 authorizing the Sheriff and authorized agents to apply for the Fiscal Year 2011/12 Homeland Security Grant Program funding opportunities.

On November 18, 2011, the Sheriff's Office received notification from the California Emergency Management Agency that based on the application submitted, El Dorado County is being awarded $317,027. El Dorado County is the subgrantee and provides funding for planning, equipment, training, planning and exercises costs to the Sheriff's Office, Public Health, Environmental Management, Fire Districts, the cities of South Lake Tahoe and Placerville, and other eligible local agencies.

Reason for Recommendation: El Dorado County applies for this grant annually. The Sheriff's Office received the grant award letter and is bringing this item back to your Board with a Budget Transfer to establish ...
