Title: Transportation Department recommending the Board make findings pursuant to Article II, section 210 b (6) of the Charter, dispense with competitive bidding procedures, authorize a sole source purchase, and authorize Chairman to sign Amendment 1 to Agreement AGMT 05-979 with Cummins West, Inc. increasing compensation by $373,583 to $587,144.75, extending the term through October 24, 2008, and amending the scope of services to provide and install Cleaire Longview emission control devices or Cleaire Horizon emission control devices on designated Department equipment, and provide staff training for the routine maintenance required for those devices for said Department, noting this item is consistent with previous action taken by the Board, as the Air Quality Management District (AQMD) Board. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve. FUNDING: El Dorado County AQMD grant funds, Road Fund.
