Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
The estimated cost of the election is $850.00. All costs associated with the election will be funded from the Many Oaks Lane Road Zone of Benefit assessments or special tax. There is no impact to the General Fund or the Road Fund, and there is no net County Cost.
Background:The Board of Supervisors formed the Many Oaks Lane Road Zone of Benefit No. 98132 on May 27, 1986 by Resolution 135-86 for the purpose of providing road improvement and maintenance services and drainage facility maintenance services. Since the formation, zone operations have been funded through annual benefit assessments upon each parcel of land within the zone boundaries.
A total of 97 parcels within the zone are currently assessed $125.00 annually, generating $12,125.00 in revenue to fund road improvement and maintenance services on 3.89 miles of roads within the zone. If the proposed measure is approved, the current benefit assessment will be replaced with a special tax in the amount of $250.00 per parcel. If approved, the special tax will result in annual revenue of $24,250.00 and increase of $12,125.00 over the current assessment.
