DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

The Parks and Recreation Commission (PRC) was established in 1988 by the Board of Supervisors to recognize the importance of recreation for the physical and mental health of both the residents of, and visitors to, El Dorado County. The purpose of the PRC is advising the Board on matters related to the development and maintenance of recreational opportunities within its borders.

In alignment with the County expectations for all commissions and committees, this annual report outlines the PRC’s purpose and objectives, membership, governing documents, Fiscal Year (FY) 2025-26 achievements, and FY 2026-27 challenges and goals.
