DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND

In accordance with the Board of Supervisors Procurement Policy C-17, Section 6.3 Surplus Property Sale or Transfer, "The Purchasing Agent shall sell, transfer, donate, or exchange surplus property as provided for by Government Code, County Ordinance Code, or Board of Supervisors' direction."

The Sheriff's Office has determined that the 1969 Park Trailer (Serial #4B0597) is no longer needed for department use and is requesting to donate the surplus item to the Georgetown Fire Protection District. Georgetown Fire Protection District intends that the trailer will be used in a manner that is beneficial to the public good.

ALTERNATIVES

The Board could choose not to donate the surplus property, and the Purchasing Agent would dispose of said property by auction.
