Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts on behalf of Information Technologies Department, recommending the Board approve the following:
1) Award Bid No. 14-204-034 for the purchase of Computers: Desktops, Laptops, Monitors and Related Products to the low qualified bidder, EDC Systems of Lafeyette, CA ;
2) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue a blanket purchase order in the amount of $200,000 plus applicable sales tax and fees for a six (6) month award period following Board approval; and
3) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to increase the blanket purchase order on an "as needed" basis during the awarded period as long as funding is available within the requesting department's budget.

Procurement and Contracts has been advised that funding is available within the various Departments' budgets. General Fund.
Reason for Recommendation
At the request of Information Technologies Department, the Procurement and Contracts division issued an Invitation to Bid for Computers: Desktops, Laptops, Monitors and Related Products.
The computer equipment will be used by County of El Dorado staff in the performance of their jobs. Sixty-two (62) Invitation to bid notification letters were mailed, two to local vendors. One qualified resposne was received, none from a local vendor. The evaluation was based on the estimated number of desktops computers, laptop computers and monitors needed for the next six months, this information was provided by department staff.
