Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost
The requested Board action has no associated fiscal impact or net County cost.
 
Background
This year the "Jeepers Jamboree Vendor Show and Outdoor Expo" is back in Georgetown as it was 15 years ago.  Sponsored by Jeepers Jamboree and Jeep Jamboree, Inc., these closures will provide pedestrians with an opportunity to enjoy the event with no through motor vehicle traffic.  The Event will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.  
 
The event will close Main Street which turns into Wentworth Springs Road from Hwy 193 to School Street.  The sponsors have requested the road closures between 8:00 a.m to 8:00 p.m.
 
Reason for Recommendation
The Transportation Division is recommending Board approval of the road closures to provide for the safety of participants, volunteers and spectators along the event , and to assist in the success of this community event.  Other involved agencies have made no objections to this closure.
 
Clerk of the Board Follow Up Actions
1. The Clerk will obtain the Chair's signature on the Resolution.
2. The Clerk will send an executed copy of the Resolution to the Transportation Division.
