Title
Supervisor Novasel recommending the Board consider directing staff to discontinue the pursuit of the Homekey Round 2 NOFA application for the purchase of the Best Western Inn in Pollock Pines.
Body
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND:
On December 7, 2021, the Board of Supervisors (BOS) directed staff to move forward with a community engagement process in Pollock Pines regarding a potential purchase of the Best Western Inn in Pollock Pines. The direction was provided to ensure that a robust discussion and dialogue occurs with the community regarding a potential temporary housing program that could be funded through the Homekey Round 2 application. As this process is to take place in the month of January, this item is being brought forward to discuss concerns with this particular location.
Being in full support of creating homeless solutions for El Dorado residents, the Board of Supervisors should consider direction to staff to create a list of prioritizations for any potential future projects created within the Homekey program.
