Body
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Sheriff’s Office has been awarded $1,500.00 to fund the purchase of supplies to be used at community events hosted by the Sheriff’s Office Homeless Outreach Team.
The Sheriff's Office has hosted four events during the summer of 2019 where the Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) has mobilized the HOT Trailer and other public agencies and private entities have been on-site engaging the homeless. These events assist the homeless community in finding services that are available to them including: substance abuse assessments, mental health assessments, benefits enrollment and various medical services. In addition to county resources offered, the trailer also allows the opportunity for private or non-profit groups to participate in providing support to the homeless via clothing, food and other donations.
