Supervisor Ranalli recommending the Board:
1) Approve Supervisor Ranalli's recommendation for the appointment of the District IV representative to the Planning Commission for a term ending January 1, 2019; and
2) Extend its appreciation to Dave Pratt for his dedication to the County of El Dorado through his commitment of almost seven years of service as a member of the El Dorado Planning Commission that included two terms as the Commission's Chairman, and over four years of service to the El Dorado County Agricultural Commission.

Supervisor Ranalli accepted the resignation of the District IV Planning Commissioner, Dave Pratt, on Friday, January 8, 2016, with Mr. Pratt's resignation effective Friday, January 15, 2016.
Pursuant to Government Code Section 54974, the Clerk of the Board posted a Notice of Vacancy. Additionally, the Clerk's office made the Notice of Vacancy available on the Board of Supervisors website and via electronic distribution to those who utilize the County's Electronic Subscription Service. Supervisor Ranalli also issued a media announcement.
Applications will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016.
In order to maintain a strong representation on the Planning Commission for the Fourth Supervisorial District, and to ensure that the Commission is able (if necessary) to secure a quorum, Supervisor Ranalli seeks to recommend an appointee for the Board of Supervisors consideration before the January 28, 2016, regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission. Working within the parameters presented by the requirements of the Government Code and the next scheduled meeting date of the Planning Commission requires that the recommendation for appointment be considered as part of the January 26, 2016, Board of Supervisors agenda.
