Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) recommending the Board adopt and authorize the Chair to sign Resolution 056-2017, to establish fees for Medical Marijuana Identification Cards dispensed by the Emergency Medical Services Agency, in compliance with Health and Safety Code Section 11362.755 as amended by Proposition 64, Section 5.3.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND:
At the Board of Supervisors meeting of August 30, 2016 (16-0805, Item 30), the Board received proposed fee changes as a result of a Fee Study, and adopted Resolution 143-2016 pertaining to fees for Animal Services, Resolution 145-2016 pertaining to fees related to the Behavioral Health Division, Resolution 146-2016 pertaining to fees for the Public Guardian program, and Resolution 147-2016 pertaining to fees for the Public Health Clinic, Laboratory, and Vital Statistics programs. Additionally, the Board directed staff to return to the Board on September 13, 2016 with revised Resolution 144-2016 regarding fees specific to the Emergency Medical Services Agency and Resolution 148-2016 regarding fees specific to the Senior Day Care and Senior Services Program. Based on Board direction on August 30, 2016, staff prepared revised Resolutions 144-2016 and 148-2016 for Board consideration.

On September 13, 2016, HHSA had revised Resolution 144-2016 to update fees for EMT Certifications, Paramedic Initial Accreditations and Continuing Education Provider fees to be consistent with Sacramento County EMS Agency as represented in Attachment 2D.

In accordance with the Resolution 144-2016, EMS currently charges $142.00 in County Fees and $66.00 in State Fees for Medical Eligible Medical Marijuana Identification Cards (MMIC) totaling ...
