Body
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On January 3, 2023, the County of El Dorado (County) adopted resolution 014-2023, adopting the Salary and Benefits resolution for its unrepresented employees. Section 6 of the Salary and Benefits Resolution provides that the base wage scale for the Snow Removal Worker - Extra Help classification shall be set and maintained equal to that of Highway Maintenance Worker III. The base salary of the Highway Maintenance Worker III classification received a Board approved increase effective July 15, 2023. The Snow Removal Worker classification should have been increased by 5% incrementally to comply with Section 601 of the Salary and Benefits Resolution 014-2023 for Unrepresented Employees, however, the classification did not receive a salary increase at that time. Because the position of Snow Removal Worker is a seasonal classification and no employees are currently working in the classification, there is no need for a retroactive correction.
ALTERNATIVES
The salary increases are necessary to comply with the terms of the Salary and Benefits Resolution between the County and its unrepresented employees adopted by the Board on January 3, 2023.
