Body
Wendy Wood has represented the Board of Supervisors and the Superintendent of Schools on the Early Care and Education Planning Council since 1999 in the community based agency category. As a representative of Family Connections family resource center, she provided invaluable contributions on a variety of projects and committees including the Inclusion - Special Needs Project which provided training and resources to build the capacity of early learning providers to serve children with special needs. She also actively participated in the Public Policy and Advocacy Committee, Early Childhood Workforce Survey committee, and Countywide Preschool for All Planning Group and CARES Plus Workforce Development Project.  She contributed her expertise it the area of early childhood mental health, advocating for increased support for the social-emotional development of children particularly those exposed to home conflict and early trauma.
Wendy consistently advocated for strong community collaboration and was a founding member and chair of the Western Slope Community Strengthening Coalition.
The Board wants to extend its sincere appreciation for Wendy Woods contributions and service to El Dorado County as a 13-year council appointee on the Early Care and Education Planning Council.
