DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

On June 26, 2018 (Legistar Item 18-1021), the Board approved the following:

 

Directing the Human Resources Director to return to the Board on July 17, 2018, with a resolution amending the Sheriff’s Personnel Allocation adding four Sheriff Technician positions.

 

Based on the Board’s direction and prior approval, the Human Resources Department is bringing forth the request to add four full-time Sheriff’s Technician I/II positions to the authorized Personnel Allocation.

CAO RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Board approve this item.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Per Board Item 18-1021, the Board authorized the Chief Administrative Officer and Auditor-Controller to sign a budget transfer increasing appropriations in the Sheriff's FY 2018-19 budget by $90,000, offset by the use of Rural Counties funding, to fund the added allocations through September 30, 2018.  The Sheriff will complete a fee study and return to the Board before its consideration of the final budget in September, 2018, with recommendations for ongoing funding for the allocations.
