Transportation Department recommending adoption of Resolution sanctioning the closure of Pleasant Valley Road, between Leisure Lane and Mt. Aukum Road (E-16), and closure at the intersections of Alameda Road, Leisure Lane and Sly Park Road, on Saturday, July 4, 2009, between 10:45 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., for the "Pleasant Valley 4th of July Parade," subject to conditions set forth in Resolution No. 110-79 and conditions set forth in the "Application for Road Closure."

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No fiscal impact or net county cost.
Background: The "Pleasant Valley 4th of July Parade" is an annual event and is sponsored by the Pleasant Valley Grange. Requested road closures are for the safety of the parade participants, children, volunteers, and spectators along the course.
Reason for Recommendation: The Transportation Department is recommending Board approval of the closure to allow for the safety and success of this community event. Other involved agencies have made no objections to this closure.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
1. The Board Clerk needs to obtain the Chairman's signature on the Resolution.
2. The Board Clerk needs to send a fully executed copy of the Resolution to this Department.
3. The roads listed in the Resolution will be closed on Saturday, July 4, 2009 between 10:45 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. for "Pleasant Valley 4th of July Parade" activities.
