DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Registrar of Voters is the election official for local jurisdictions within the County. The Elections Department will administer the consolidation of the jurisdictions’ contests for the General Election to be held on November 3, 2026.
Elections Code Sections 10400 et seq. and Senate Bill 280 provide for the consolidation of local jurisdiction elections with the General Election to be conducted by the El Dorado County Registrar of Voters on November 3, 2026. The Elections Department has received resolutions from local districts for the November 3, 2026, election.
ALTERNATIVES
Board can choose not to consolidate the jurisdictions for the November 3, 2026, election. The Elections Department would be required to conduct individual elections for each district.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
