Clerk of the Board of Supervisors recommending the Board consider the following regarding public communication to the Board of Supervisors:
1) Adopt Policy H-1 Communications to the Board from a Member of the Public replacing the current Policy H-1; and
2) Adopt Policy H-2 Communications from a Member of the Public for the Public Record.

History:
The Board of Supervisors currently has Policy H-1 Written Communications to Board from Non-County Agencies and Individuals which was adopted in 1987. This policy has been reviewed and was determined that it needed revision. During the revision process, it was decided that in order to clarify how a member of the public can communicate with a Board member, there should be two separate policies.
The first policy is to be a guide as to how a member of the public can bring their topic to the Board's attention and shows how their communication will be handled once received.
The second policy is a guide on how a member of the public can ensure that their communication becomes a part of the public record.
Recommendation:
1) Adopt both Policies as submitted.
