Supervisor Turnboo recommending the Board rename the Public Safety Facility to the "Sheriff John D'Agostini Public Safety Facility" and direct the Chief Administrative Office, Facilities Division to procure and install appropriate signage on the face of the building above the front doors upon confirmation of receiving private donations to cover the costs.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
Shortly after becoming Sheriff in 2011, Sheriff D'Agostini immediately began discussions to build a new public safety headquarters that met the needs of the Sheriff's Office and our community. Through his leadership the County was able to secure a low interest loan from the United States Department of Agriculture to fund the construction of the facility. In addition, these efforts resulted in the consolidation of almost all Sheriff operations on the West Slope resulting in savings as a result of no longer leasing facilities, as well as increased collaboration and improved morale in the Sheriff's Office.
Without Sheriff D'Agostini's leadership this new facility would not have been constructed. Considering his leadership on this matter, as well as his overall leadership from 2011 through 2022, Sheriff D'Agostini is well deserving of this recognition.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
There will no financial impact other than staff time as the costs for the signage will be funded with private donations. All such donations will be brought to the Board for approval and acceptance of the donation prior to any staff time or purchases being made.
