Background:
The Local Update of Census Addresses (LUCA) program offers three levels of participation. Levels 1 and 2 of the LUCA program are designed for the urban regions with a large population of residents residing in noncompliant residential settings. Level 3 of the LUCA program is designed for regions with reliable addresses and more conventional residential settings.
Reason for Recommendation:
The Level 3 of the LUCA program allows our County to update, compare and submit our records to the Census Bureau. This Level will allow us to have a more accurate database of residential housing in our County and fulfill the address needs of the Census to process their collection of data.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Signed participation form will be returned to the Census Bureau.
