DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
Department of Transportation, Maintenance and Operations Division (Transportation) annually includes two (2) replacement camera systems for signals in the adopted budget. During Fiscal Year 2025/26, two (2) additional camera systems were included to be utilized on the Diamond Springs Parkway Project. The NoTraffic Camera Systems gather and interpret vital traffic data, allow staff to adjust signal timing and traffic flow strategies, and enable monitoring and visual assessment. NoTraffic Camera Systems work for both vehicles and bicycles. Staff determined that the No Traffic Camera System was the only solution compatible with the existing infrastructure and capable of seamless integration. Other manufacturers’ systems were not compatible and would have required significant equipment replacement, resulting in additional costs.

All four (4) camera systems are included on the approved 2025/26 Fixed Asset List.
