DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION

Community Development Services, Department of Transportation (Transportation), recommending the Board approve the minor revisions, reflecting changes made in format and adding a Sunset Review Date, to Board of Supervisors Policy G-1 - Encroachments Within the County Road Rights-of-Way (Policy G-1/Policy), in support of Strategic Plan Good Governance Goal - Objective 2.2.

 

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

On December 22, 1987, the Board of Supervisors adopted Policy G-1, which has not been evaluated or updated since its adoption. 

 

As part of Objective 2.2 of the Good Governance Goal in the Board approved Strategic Plan, Board policies are undergoing review and update.  Transportation staff has determined Policy G-1 is still necessary with no material changes identifed.  The minor revisions shown in track-change format reflect changes made to the Policy format, as well as adding a Sunset Review Date of November 7, 2021 (see Attachment B).

 

ALTERNATIVES

The Board may choose not to approve the recommended changes, direct staff to make additional modifications, or take no action.

CAO RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Board approve this item.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

There is no fiscal impact associated with this Policy revision.
