Sheriff’s Office recommending the Board approve and authorize the Chair to execute Reimbursement Agreement 528-O1711 between the County and City of Placerville for reimbursement of funds in the amount of $4,000 for the Fiscal Year 2016 Homeland Security grant performance period that ends May 31, 2019, for the purchase of a Video Monitoring System for the Placerville Police Department.

 

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

The Approval Authority, established by the Board to administer the use of Homeland Security Grant funds, has approved the reimbursement of $4,000 to the City of Placerville from the Fiscal Year 2016 Homeland Security Grant for the purchase of a Video Monitoring System. The Approval Authority consists of representatives from the City of Placerville, City of South Lake Tahoe, the Sheriff’s Office, Fire Districts, and other eligible governmental agencies. 

 

ALTERNATIVES

Failure to disburse funds would result in the inability of the Sheriff’s Office to administer the grant funds as approved by the State and the Approval Authority.

Approve as recommended.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

There is no Net County Cost impact.  Funding has been allocated to the City of Placerville from the Homeland Security Grant.
