DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND:
HHSA’s Area Agency on Aging (AAA) was awarded the MOCA funding through Funding Agreement #NM-2224-29 (FENIX 7770), specific to the Senior Nutrition program. Pursuant to the Older Americans Act of 1965, HHSA’s AAA Senior Nutrition program is required to provide congregate and home delivered meals to seniors 60 years of age and older, and MOCA funding is to further support AAAs by expanding and modernizing nutrition services for older adults, focusing on underserved communities.
In this Personnel Allocation request, HHSA is requesting the addition of a 1.0 FTE Limited-Term (LT) Program Coordinator position assigned to the South Lake Tahoe (SLT) Senior Center to be funded by the MOCA funding award. The LT Program Coordinator will focus on expanding the Senior Nutrition program in SLT, by increasing awareness in the community through marketing and outreach efforts, developing and coordinating activities and programs to enhance senior participation at the SLT Senior Center, and by increasing the recruitment campaign for new volunteer home delivered meal drivers. This position will report to the Program Manager of Older Adult Programs and will create efficiencies by providing hands-on direct supervision to the SLT Senior Nutrition staff, who are currently supervised by staff located in Placerville.
