Facilities, a division of the Chief Administrative Office, recommending the Board:
1) Make findings that routine monitoring and maintenance, and as-needed and urgent or immediate elevator repair services provided by Elevator Technology, Inc. are in the public's best interest and that there are specialty skills, qualifications, and equipment not expressly identified in County classifications involved in the performance of the work in accordance with El Dorado County Ordinance Code, Chapter 3.13.030(B); and
2) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to execute competitively-procured Agreement for Services 10438 with Elevator Technology, Inc. in the amount of $300,000 with a five-year term to provide routine monitoring and maintenance, and as-needed and urgent or immediate elevator repair services at various County-operated locations; and
3) Authorize the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute any necessary amendments relating to Agreement for Services 10438, excluding term extensions and increases to total compensation, contingent upon approval by County Counsel and Risk Management.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
Contracted elevator maintenance and repair is a highly specialized and tightly regulated service that the County has relied upon for several decades. These services include urgent, immediate, and routine maintenance activities that must comply with State safety regulations to obtain and maintain annual operating permits. Without an active operating permit, the elevator must legally be removed from service.
Elevator Technology, Inc. has previously served the County as a subcontractor to our current elevator maintenance provider, Pride Industries One, Inc., and has demonstrated consistent performance and familiarity with County facilities.
