DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

The Registrar of Voters is the Election Official for local jurisdictions within the county.  The Election Department can handle the consolidation of the jurisdictions' contest on the Statewide Special Election.

Elections Code Sections 10400 et seq. and Senate Bill 280 provides for the consolidation of local jurisdiction elections with the Statewide Special Election to be conducted by the El Dorado County Registrar of Voters on November 4, 2025.  The Election Department has received resolutions from local districts for the November 4, 2025 election.

ALTERNATIVES

Board can choose not to consolidate the jurisdictions for the November 4, 2025 election. The Election Department would be required to conduct individual elections for each district.
