Reason for Recommendation
In an effort to bring several County Facilities up to ADA requirements the County contracted with Benchmark General Engineering, Inc. to provide sidewalk and walkway modifications at the Placerville Jail facility. Due to unforeseen conditions, adjacent flatwork needed immediate repairs once a void was discovered in the concrete caused by storm water washout. To avoid risk to the public, damage to the property and demobilization / mobilization charges, a Change Order for $3,910 was issued to address this problem.
The Board is being asked to ratify the Chief Administrative Officer's signature on Change Order No. 2 that would have otherwise required Board approval.
