Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: None. Funding is included within the Proposed FY 2008-09 Budget for the Alcohol and Drug Programs Division.


Background: El Dorado County receives funding from the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs in support of the OTP in El Dorado County. OTP funds are used for the following:

· Continue treatment allocation for residential services for offenders assessed to need them;
· Provide structured relapse prevention services for sentenced offenders who complete treatment.
· Support the El Dorado County drug court model, including dedicated court calendars with regularly scheduled reviews of treatment progress, and strong collaboration by the courts, probation and treatment.

Services within this contract are considered entitlements to eligible clients and must be provided to clients upon their request or by court order. Because the number of requests for services and court orders vary from month to month it is difficult to estimate the level of services that Treatment providers will be mandated to provide.
