Body
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
Occasionally, private citizens or companies offer small donations of cash, goods, and services in support of various programs within the Parks Division. California law (Gov. Code, 25355) authorizes the Board of Supervisors to delegate authority for accepting donations to county officers or employees. On July 13, 2021, The Board adopted Resolution No. 081-2021 delegating authority to the CAO or designee to accept individual donations, up to $10,000, with the requirement for a report of all donations of $10,000 or less to be provided to the Board at the end of each fiscal year. Due to an administrative oversight, donations received in Fiscal Year 2021-22 were not reported to the Board following the close of the fiscal year. Future reports will be provided on an annual basis.

This Board item represents the first and second annual report of donations received by the Parks Division in support of programs and services provided. For these reporting periods of Fiscal Year (FY) 2021-22 (July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022) and FY 2022-23 (July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023), donations were received for the support of the Rubicon Trail and El Dorado Trail programs.

In FY 2021-22, a total of four (4) donations were made for a total of $1,478, ranging from $90 to $832 per donation. In FY 2022-23, a total of four (4) donations were made for a total of $1,959, ranging from $98 to $1,000 per donation. Please refer to Attachment A and B, respectively, for the detailed annual reports.
