DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
In accordance with Policy A-1, Policies, the sunset review date for Board Policies is four years from the approval date or last update. Policies A-6, Grant Applications, F-4, Lowering of Flags, A-4, County Legislative Policy, A-5, Grant Endorsements for Non-County Agencies, and C-18, Non-Financial Agreements all had sunset review dates in 2021. All Departments were consulted for potential changes to the policies, and draft changes were discussed and prepared by the Chief Administrative Office. Proposed revisions to the policies were then routed to department heads for review and comment.
No changes are recommended for policies A-4, County Legislative Policy, A-5, Grant Endorsements for Non-County Agencies, or C-18, Non-Financial Agreements. The attached clean versions reflect an updated sunset review date only.
Minor revisions are proposed for Policies A-6, Grant Applications, and F-4, Lowering of Flags. Policy A-6, Grant Applications, was amended to provide clearer language regarding in-kind donations and department head authority to accept grants under $10,000. F-4, Lowering of Flags, was amended to provide consistent language with the Federal Flag Code.
