Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts on behalf of Community Development Agency - Transportation Division - Fleet Unit in conjunction with Air Quality Management District (AQMD), recommending the Board consider the following:
1) Approve Award Bid 16-070-014 for the purchase of six (6) new 2016 Ford C-Max Plug-In Energi, Hybrid 4-Door Sedans to the low qualified bidder Downtown Ford Sales of Sacramento, CA in the amount of $169,536 plus all required taxes and fees (estimated at $12,757); and
2) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to sign PO201607009 in the amount of $169,536 plus all required taxes and fees, following Board approval.
FUNDING: Fleet Internal Service Fund and Federal Grant Funds from AQMD.

Procurement and Contracts has been advised that funding is available within the Community Development Agency - Transportation Division - Fleet Unit's budget and Federal issued grants through AQMD.
Reason for Recommendation
At the request of Community Development Agency - Transportation Division - Fleet Unit, the Procurement and Contracts division issued an Invitation to Bid for six (6) new 2016 Ford C-Max Plug-In Energi, Hybrid 4-Door Sedans vehicles. The replacement of fleet vehicles is generally determined when the vehicle reaches the targeted mileage standardized by Fleet Management, or replaced due to accidents in which the vehicle could not be repaired. All Vehicle replacements are in accordance with the revised Vehicle Standards approved by the Board of Supervisors on April 4, 2011 (Legislative File #11/0178).
One (1) vehicle type was included in the bid solicitation, eight invitations to bid were mailed, two responses were received, none from local vendors as there are no local vendors for this solicitation in El Dorado County.
