DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Library Funding and Sustainability Ad Hoc was created with intent of exploring funding options for the library considering two parcel tax measures expire June 30, 2027, that partially fund the operation of the Georgetown Library (Zone G) and South Lake Tahoe Library (Zone F).
Fiscal Year 2024-25 (Zone G) levy $123,572
Fiscal Year 2024-25 (Zone F) levy $579,906
El Dorado County libraries are funded with the following special taxes:
- Resolutions 313-2001 (voter approval 3/05/2002) and 236-2004 (voter approval 11/2/2004) authorized a special tax in Library Zone E - El Dorado Hills
- Resolution 010-2014 (voter approval 6/3/2014) authorized a special tax in Library Zone F - South Lake Tahoe.
- Resolution 011-2014 (voter approval 6/3/2014) authorized a special tax in Library Zone G - Georgetown.
- On July 2, 1993, the Board adopted Resolution 226-93 establishing a library benefit assessment for extended library services within County Service Area No. 10, Zone D, for extended library services at the Cameron Park Branch Library.
