FUNDING: Community Funding.
Body
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Mission to Honor Veterans is an invitation-only, virtual "trip" to honor local veterans at no cost to them. This unique event allows veterans the opportunity to experience a virtual visit to the National War Memorials without ever having to leave our area. Priority is given to advanced age and frail veterans who would not be able to participate in an Honor Flight to Washington D.C.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could choose not to approve the funding request, and no funding would be provided in support of these efforts.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
The Board of Supervisors allocated $75,000 in the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 budget in General Fund - Other Operations (Department 15) to be available for community funding requests supported by the Board. Approval of this item would allocate $5,000 from this amount. There is no additional impact to the General Fund due to the approval of this agreement.
