Title
Chief Administrative Office recommending the Board appoint one new member to the Fire and Emergency Medical Services Ad Hoc Committee to fill the vacancy created by Supervisor Veerkamp's departure.
Body
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Board established an ad hoc committee to work on issues related to fire and emergency medical services within the County. This committee coordinates with County staff and the fire and emergency medical service providers in the County toward the goal of continued, high quality and fiscally sustainable fire, emergency medical, and ambulance transport services.
Supervisors Parlin and Veerkamp have been serving on the Fire and Emergency Medical Services ad hoc committee. Staff recommends appointment of one new member whose term continues beyond 2023. This will provide continuity on the committee and allow time for the remaining member to bring the new member up to speed.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could choose to select two new members for Fiscal Year 2020-21.
