DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On September 19, 2023, with Legistar file 23-1448, Agreement 7930 was executed with Tailored Training Programs, LLC (TTP) in the original amount of $84,600 for as-needed training courses, extending their knowledge of Science-Based Interview (SBI) Techniques. TTP is a consulting team comprised of world-renowned law enforcement interview instructors and has administered several successful trainings to the District Attorney’s Office in the past. TTP instructors are experts in the field of investigations and interview techniques. SBI utilizes scientifically supported interview techniques that prohibit both lying and coercion in interviews, maximizing information gathering, and avoiding false confessions and false information. These trainings allow District Attorney staff, and now other law enforcement agencies, to increase their current level of interviewing and interrogation skills through the attendance of specially designed courses.

On April 30, 2024, with Legistar file 24-0625, Amendment I to Agreement 7930 was executed, increasing the amount by $190,400, updating the total agreement amount to $275,000. The additional funds were added for continued Science-Based Interviewing Technique trainings.

Current proposed Amendment II to Agreement 7930 will increase the amount by $120,000, making the new amount $395,000. The increased amount will allow for continued additional training....
