DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
A '2x2' committee includes two elected representatives from the County and two elected representatives from another organization which in this case in the City of South Lake Tahoe. Currently, the County has '2x2' committees to participate in discussions with the City of Placerville, the El Dorado Hills Community Services District and the Cameron Park Community Services District. Historically, the County also participated in '2x2' discussions with the City of Folsom.
The purpose of the '2x2' is to allow elected officials to discuss issues that jointly impact both organizations, resulting in improved communication and collaboration between the organizations.
During discussions with the South Lake Tahoe City Manager and the CAO, it was determined that it would be beneficial to both organizations to reinstate the '2x2' committees.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could choose not to appoint Board members to the '2x2' committee.
