Title: Facilities, a division of the Chief Administrative Office, recommending the Board: 1) Make findings in accordance with Chapter 3.13, Section 3.13.030, of the County Contracting Out Ordinance that due to the temporary or occasional nature associated with as-needed and urgent or immediate restoration and repair services, the ongoing aggregate of work to be performed under Agreement for Services 9158 is not sufficient to warrant the addition of permanent staff; and 2) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to execute Agreement for Services 9158 with Jon K. Takata Corporation doing business as Restoration Management Company, a competitively qualified firm, for a compensation amount not to exceed $150,000 and a term of three years to provide as-needed and urgent or immediate restoration and repair services at various County-operated locations. DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On January 30, 2025, the Restoration Management Company was formally approved via a qualified list for Electrical, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, Elevator, Environmental, Snow Removal, Pest Management, Restoration and Repair, Surveying, Fire Suppression, Arborist, and Roofing Services, Category G, for Property Restoration and Repair Services, as the result of competitive Request for Qualifications (RFQ) 24-0039.

Services provided under this agreement include as-needed and urgent or immediate restoration, repair, and cleaning of facilities involving wind, water, mold, biohazard, and fire and smoke damage, including disinfection and disposal at various County operated locations.

Due to the fact that these services are primarily utilized in short term situations, it is further recommended the Board make findings that due to the limited time frames, temporary or occasional nature, or schedule for the project or scope of work, the ongoing aggregate of work to be performed under Agreement for Services 9158 is not sufficient to warrant the addition of permanent ...
