DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
The County will need to purchase a Temporary Construction Easement from the above listed parcel for the El Dorado Trail - Los Trampas to Halcon Project (Project). In order for the Community Development Agency, Transportation Division (Transportation) to research title records and prepare for negotiations with the subject parcel owner, Transportation is requesting authorization from the Board to proceed with the acquisition process by the ordering and payment of a title report and certified appraisal for the land right to be acquired.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND
The Project will construct a one mile extension of the El Dorado Trail from its current terminus at Los Trampas Drive (a private road) to Halcon Road. This multi-use (bicycle, pedestrian and equestrian) trail will be constructed along the old Michigan-California Lumber Company Railroad alignment. El Dorado County owns fee title on this railroad corridor. Improvements will include constructing paved bicycle trail, minor widening of existing trail and drainage improvements.
