Background:

Reason for Recommendation:  El Dorado County has been receiving funding from the Office of Emergency Services for the Elder Vertical Prosecution program since FY 2004/2005.  In years past the county has been unsuccessful in protecting it's elder population.  Through the use of these funds the District Attorney's office has assigned one full time investigator and one part time deputy district attorney to investigate and prosecute those individuals who abuse seniors physically, emotionally and/or financially.

Action to be taken following Board approval:  Packet to be returned to District Attorney's office for submission to Office of Emergency Services.
