Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No fiscal impact or net county cost.
 
Background: Approximately ten to twelve Wagon Trains wagons pulled by horses will be traveling down Highway 50 from Fresh Pond to Pollock Pines.  The Wagon Train will take the Sly Park Road exit and travel to Pony Express Trail, stopping in front of the Longs Drugs Shopping Center Parking Lot.  The requested road closure is for the safety of the participants, children, volunteers, and spectators along the course.
 
Reason for Recommendation: The Department of Transportation is recommending Board approval of the closure to allow for the safety and success of this community event.  Other involved agencies have made no objections to this closure.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval: The road listed in the Resolution will be closed from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm Friday, June 12, 2009 for the "Pollock Pines Wagon Train Event."  Please provide this department with a signed copy of the Resolution for this road closure.
